A Fresh Start for a Coppell Family Home
In 2024, we had the opportunity to remodel a homeowner’s master bathroom. The project went beautifully, and when it came time to update her father’s home in Coppell, she reached out to us again. This house was full of memories but stuck in another era, layered in wallpaper, filled with heavy cabinets, and weighed down with dated finishes. She wanted it refreshed, functional, and welcoming, with the goal of renting it out when complete.
Stepping Into the Past
Walking through the home, it was clear how much it reflected a style that had long since passed.
In the dining room, bold wallpaper and a deep red ceiling made the space feel dark and heavy.
The kitchen, with its aged cabinetry and bulky appliances, no longer met today’s standards for design or function.
The wet bar, once trendy, had become a cluttered drop zone by the garage door.
And the master bathroom, covered floor to ceiling in floral wallpaper, featured outdated fixtures and finishes that were crying out for renewal.
Breathing New Life Into the Home
We set out to reimagine every corner of this house while respecting its structure. Smooth, modern updates now flow seamlessly from room to room:
The popcorn ceilings were scraped away, instantly brightening the spaces. New paint in a soft, neutral palette replaced the busy wallpaper, giving the home a fresh canvas. The flooring was upgraded throughout to a durable luxury vinyl plank in the main areas and plush carpet in the bedrooms for comfort and style.
In the kitchen and laundry room, we refinished the existing cabinets, bringing them back to life with a crisp new color that pairs perfectly with stainless steel appliances. What was once dark and heavy now feels fresh, open, and functional.
The wet bar that once collected clutter was removed, making way for a more practical and welcoming entry. The difference this single change made was striking it opened up the flow and eliminated wasted space.
And then there’s the master bathroom, a true showstopper. The floral wallpaper and dated fixtures are gone, replaced with clean white tile, a frameless glass shower, a soaking tub surrounded by fresh finishes, and a bright double vanity. The bathroom went from dark and outdated to spa-like and timeless.
A Home Ready for Its Next Chapter
With its updates complete, this Coppell home has been transformed from a dated family property into a stylish, functional, and inviting rental. The homeowner can now feel confident offering a refreshed space that tenants will love living in.
What was once a house weighed down by the past is now light, bright, and ready for new memories.
